GREEN BUILT® PRINCIPLES

Green Built® and Energy Star® go hand in hand but are not the same.
The definition is: Use of design and construction techniques based on energy efficiency, water efficiency, indoor air quality and comfort, durability, and the use of products that have a positive impact on the environment.

The products we use promote principles and practices of better forest management, reduce pollution, reduce landfill waste and increase durability. For example, we use a lot of engineered lumber products in a new home. These products are made from sustainable managed forests and use less lumber than traditional solid sawn lumber and are superior in strength and straightness. There are many other materials and methods that make up a Green Built® home and we will be glad to talk to you more about them.
